Pre-Conference Tutorial
on
Earth Observation Satellites
(EOS-04 & EOS-06) Data for Ocean Applications

Selected List of Participants for Pre-Conference Tutorial One FULL day program (22-August-2023) is scheduled for demonstrating the utilization of Earth Observation (EO) satellites data especially EOS-04 & EOS-06 satellites to address various ocean applications. These two Indian EO missions provide the data in microwave (EOS-04, C-band SAR) and optical & microwave (EOS-06: Ocean Colour Monitor (OCM3) & Ku-band scatterometer) regions of the electromagnetic spectrum.

During this one day program the participants will be educated / made aware of the freely available data sources for ocean applications in the field of microwave and optical remote sensing. The availability of data sources for EOS-04 & EOS-06 data sets from ISRO web portals will be demonstrated. The participants will be made available to use the FREELY available software packages for processing these sensors data sets such as visualization, merging, binning (spatial and temporal) and identification of various oceanic features / processes using these two satellite data sets.

At the end of the day the participants will be taken to the earth station of INCOIS for witnessing the real-time data acquisition of the EOS-06 OCM-3 data and few other facilities at INCOIS.

The Program includes:

Note:
  1. All those participants whose abstract is accepted for the conference only will be given a chance to participate in the pre-conference tutorial. All are requested to get their own laptop with valid OS and anti-virus s/w before they can participate in the pre-conference tutorial.
  2. Priority will be given to students/research scholars and early career professionals. If over whelming response is received, committee will decide on the optimal number of trainees who will attend the pre-conference tutorial.
